BMS girls shine at state wrestling meet

L to R: Young and HorsleyBellefontaine Middle School had two wrestlers compete at the inaugural Ohio Athletic Commission Girls State Wrestling Championships on Sunday.

Chelsea Horsley won the 98 pound title with three consecutive victories.

Horsley defeated Zoe Temple by fall (1:26) in round 1.

In the semifinal round, Horsley won 4-2 in overtime vs. Jadah McMillen of Sidney.

Horsley then secured her state title with a fall of Miamisburg's Cassia Zammitt in the championship final.

Mikayla Young earned state runner-up in the 90 pound division.

Young defeated Katie Showalter by fall (4:07) in round 1.

Young then earned a 12-0 major decision over Bailey Brewer.

In her state title match, Young fell to Chloe Dearwester (Athena WC) by fall in (:36).
