Suspicious vehicle leads to marijuana charges for area teens

Five area teens were issued drug-related charges near Bellefontaine Sunday night around 9:40.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that a deputy on patrol noticed a Honda Civic parked in a remote parking lot at 1648 Route 68 North.

The vehicle's lights were off.

Authorities approached the vehicle and noticed an odor of burnt marijuana.

Miguel Estano, 18, of Bellefontaine, was the driver.

The passengers were Lindsay Eddy, 19, of Bellefontaine; Trayce Walker, 18, of Bellefontaine; Tyler Stine, 19, of DeGraff; and Michaella Faulkenberry, 15, of DeGraff.

Deputies searched the vehicle and located two baggies with suspected marijuana residue inside.

Stine claimed ownership of the suspected marijuana.

Each passenger admitted to smoking marijuana in the vehicle.

Estano said he discarded a blunt when deputies approached.

He said he smoked marijuana earlier in the day.

Estano, Stine, Walker, and Eddy were each issued a summons for one count of drug abuse.

They were released.

Faulkenberry, at the request of her grandfather, was arrested for drug abuse.

She was lodged in the Logan County JDC.
