Two arrested following Indian Lake traffic stop; meth recovered

A driver and passenger were arrested following a traffic stop on State Route 708 and World Class Drive (near Russells Point) Sunday night around 6:30.

The Washington Township Police Department stopped Brandy Stelzer, 29, of Lakeview, for an equipment violation.

Stelzer, who was wanted on a warrant, was asked to exit the vehicle.

At the same time, passenger Joshua Gilbert, 33, of Lakeview, exited the car and threw a pipe containing methamphetamine into a nearby field.

Officers recovered the pipe.

Three children were riding in the vehicle.

Gilbert was charged with felony tampering with evidence, possession of drugs, and child endangering.

Stelzer and Gilbert were lodged in the Logan County Jail.

The children were released to family members.

Logan County Children's Services was contacted because of the child endangering charge.
